Community Gardens Program

The Monocacy Farm Project makes community garden plots available to those who wish to plant and maintain their own vegetable gardens. MFP staff manage the gardens' soil health through annual rotation, cover cropping and tractor-till plots ahead of spring planting. MFP shares the land with community gardeners along with wood chip mulch, well-water hydrants and agroecological educational support throughout the garden season; mid-April through mid-October.

Donors are invited to sponsor the community gardens to ensure that interested gardeners can participate regardless of their ability to make a financial contribution.

Recommended Donations
Standard 10 ft. x 25 ft. plot | $100 per season
Larger 10 ft. x 50 ft. plot | $175 per season

Contributions help cover operating expenses and support MFP’s regular produce distributions to our partners in the emergency food system.
